Sexual Harassment Managerial/Supervisory
(California Requirement)
Beginning in calendar year 2005, California’s new law, AB1825, requires all companies with a combination of at least 50 employees, agency temps, and on-site contract employees to conduct a minimum of 2 hours of “interactive and effective training for all managerial and supervisory” personnel. Any employee recently hired or moved into a supervisory position must also undergo this training within 6 months of the date they assume their new duties. As every company, regardless of size, must meet all provisions of AB1825 concerning harassment in the workplace, this class is a must for any business that operates within the state of California.

The 2 – 2 ½ hour training session combines class participation, DVD video, and a PowerPoint presentation that meets all requirements of AB1825 while providing the understanding your team needs to not just deal with a complaint of sexual harassment, but how to provide a safe work environment free from harassment.

Course details:
  • 2-2 ½ hours of training that combines both video and hands on interaction (which AB1825 requires).
  • What my responsibilities are under AB1825?

Sexual Harassment
Non-Managerial/Supervisory Communication

This 30 minute class utilizes a combination of a self-survey, DVD, and employee participation to illustrate how perceptions can become reality by examining opinions and attitudes about everyday life and the simple choices we're faced with each day. The class explores the negative effects of discrimination and harassment with directness, honesty and insight.

The DVD presents front-line employees ranging in age from 20 to 35 from a variety of businesses posing seven simple questions directly to the audience. This opinion survey engages viewers by asking them to examine their own perspectives about the topic.

Questions are asked that analyze the effects of an intimidating or offensive work environment, unwelcome behavior or conduct, and discrimination. The program then reviews and explores the possibilities behind each answer. Viewers are shown how to make the kind of choices that ensure mutual respect and cooperation on the job.

The DVD also reviews the legal details of harassment and demonstrates in a direct, uncomplicated manner how to create a more respectful workplace that prevents lawsuits.

At the conclusion, the instructor, with the assistance of the client’s HR representative, reviews the company’s Anti-harassment and Sexual Harassment Policies. (A sample of each is provided to HR prior to the class for review and modification to conform to the client’s own policy.)

Participant Objectives:
  • Benefits of common courtesies
  • Perception vs. intent and who wins & loses
  • Legal definition of a hostile work environment
  • Review of the company’s Anti-Harassment and Sexual Harassment Policies.

Stress Management
Stress affects everyone! Whether you are a CEO or a salesperson, a factory worker or a bank teller, on-the-job stress affects your health and productivity. In small doses, stress can motivate and energize. In large amounts, stress can cause fatigue, sleep disturbances, inefficiency, and job dissatisfaction. There are several common causes of stress like time pressures, unrealistic expectations, and lack of goals. Even how we think can affect our stress level. If we can learn how to overcome a few simple time wasters and focus on the specific steps to deal with stress, we can more effectively manage our stress level.

This program will help participants gain a better understanding of what causes their stress and show them effective ways to deal with it. The program time frame can be altered in order to fit within your organizational needs and time constraints.
